McDonald's in Brompton Road have lodged a Licence Application with RBKC to allow them to stay open until 2.00AM every night and for earlier opening from 5.00AM daily.

The Knightsbridge Association (KA) is extremely concerned by this application which would set a catastrophic precedent for the whole of Brompton Road, making it even more a 24 hour destination.

If you share our concerns, PLEASE OBJECT TO THE APPLICATION by the deadline of Friday 4 April 2014. Rejection of an Application depends very much on the number, relevance and strength of objections from individuals.

To object, enter in your web site then scroll down to the bottom of the Application and click on SUBMIT REPRESENTATION FORM.

Alternatively write to RBKC Licensing Team, Council Offices, 37 Pembroke Road, London W8 6PW. Please send a copy of your representation to the KA at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or to the Knightsbridge Association at 6 Montpelier Street, SW7 1EZ

When making a representation, draw on any personal experience or other evidence of how extended opening hours would lead to additional public nuisance. These might include:-

  • extra noise from slamming car doors etc in nearby residential streets.

  • additional rubbish on the public highway.

  • attracting late night drinkers in search of food, leading to more anti-social behaviour, e.g. urine, vomit, etc on doorsteps.

The principal ground for objection is that the extensions will cause significant additional public nuisance, contrary to licensing objectives. Please use your own words and remember that the only way for the council to appreciate the strength of local feeling is in the number of separate objections they receive.

Do encourage your neighbours to make a representation.
